A leading company in Dubai is looking for a Senior Transport Planner to manage transport modelling projects across MENA & GCC. This role requires extensive experience in transport planning, proficiency in modelling software, and strong project management skills. The successful candidate will oversee major transport planning studies, manage external consultations, and support strategic infrastructure projects, contributing to both public and private sector developments.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience, with at least 5 in the Middle East.
• Approved as a Transport Modeler (Level 3 TIS) by RTA or equivalent from Abu Dhabi DOT.
• Experience in model development tasks within the Middle East.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects across MENA & GCC as Senior Transport Modeler.
• Lead traffic modelling and oversee transport analysis.
• Conduct research, analysis, and presentations related to transport planning.

Job description

Meinhardt is seeking a talented Senior Transport Planner with 7-10 years of experience to join our Dubai office, including at least five years of Middle East experience as a Transport Modeler. The role involves working on transport model development and application projects for the Middle East, as well as contributing to transport planning studies such as large-scale master plans, traffic impact assessments, and multidisciplinary projects in both public and private sectors.

Role & responsibilities:

• Report to the Mobility and Transportation Lead in Dubai.
• Manage the role of SUIT – Senior Transport Modeler for projects across MENA & GCC.

Required Skills:

• Proficient in transport modelling software such as CUBE and/or VISUM.
• Familiar with microsimulation and operational tools like VISSIM, SYNCHRO, SIDRA, HCS.
• Experience presenting complex model outputs to clients and authorities.
• Background in large-scale or city-wide transportation master planning projects.
• Skilled in managing external consultants, meeting deadlines, and ensuring quality.
• Ability to understand project constraints and collaborate effectively with design teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Degree in civil engineering, transport planning, or related field; master's preferred.
• 7-10 years of experience, with at least 5 in the Middle East and 2 in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
• Approved as a Transport Modeler (Level 3 TIS) by RTA or equivalent from Abu Dhabi DOT.
• Experience in model development tasks within the Middle East.
• Proficient in GIS tools, transport modelling, report writing, and delivering presentations.

Technical Management:

• Lead and manage traffic modelling using CUBE and/or VISUM.
• Oversee transport analysis, modelling, and strategy development.
• Manage master planning, traffic impact studies, and ITS/Smart Mobility projects.
• Conduct research, analysis, reporting, and presentations.
• Collaborate on project scopes and methodologies.
• Support research and design of ITS and Smart Mobility systems.
• Provide strategic planning and design expertise for infrastructure projects.
