Job description

Position Title: Senior Quality Manager

Location: Dubai, UAE (with international travel)

Role Overview

The Senior Quality Manager will play a pivotal role in leading and overseeing all aspects of quality management across multiple operational sites and international projects. This position requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in metallurgy, shop-floor experience, and a proven track record in managing and developing high-performing quality teams. The Senior Quality Manager will act as the primary quality representative to clients, ensuring the highest standards are maintained while optimising processes and material usage.

Responsibilities
  • Quality Management Leadership
    • Oversee and direct quality management systems (QMS) across all company sites.
    • Ensure compliance with international quality standards (ISO, ASME, API, etc.).
    • Lead and mentor quality teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Inspection & Shop-Floor Oversight
    • Supervise all inspection stages and ensure robust shop-floor quality practices.
    • Utilise extensive hands-on experience to identify and resolve quality issues.
    • Evaluate and develop team members to elevate technical standards and operational efficiency.
  • Metallurgy & Technical Expertise
    • Provide expert guidance on metallurgy, welding, and material selection.
    • Optimise processes and material usage (e.g., welding wire) to maximise efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Troubleshoot complex technical challenges, especially in overlay welding and hot induction bending.
  • Client Relations & Education
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on all quality-related matters.
    • Educate clients on technical standards, processes, and limitations.
    • Represent the company’s quality interests in high-value contract negotiations and project meetings.
  • Process Optimization
    • Review and enhance quality procedures to ensure best practices and regulatory compliance.
    • Implement innovative solutions to improve productivity and product reliability.
    • Monitor usage of key materials (e.g., Inconel wire) and drive cost-saving initiatives.
  • International Travel & Site Support
    • Travel to client sites globally to support project delivery and quality assurance.
    • Conduct audits, inspections, and training at international locations as required.
Candidate Profile

Experience

  • 20–30 years of progressive experience in metallurgy and quality management.
  • Extensive shop-floor and inspection experience in industrial, manufacturing, or engineering environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership of multi-site and multicultural quality teams.

Technical Skills

  • Deep knowledge of metallurgy, welding processes, and materials science.
  • Proficient in quality management systems and international standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel internationally on short notice.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Metallurgy, Engineering, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications in quality management (e.g., CQE, CQM, ISO Lead Auditor) preferred.
