Responsibilities
- Communicate with client representatives continuously regarding project progress and areas of concern.
- Participate in the planning and formulation of design alternatives and solutions for the construction project.
- Develop and/or administer project budgets, fiscal controls, contracts, and quality‑control provisions.
- Oversee all aspects of day‑to‑day construction project management.
- Review and interpret proposed designs, architectural drawings, and building specifications for appropriateness to required function and institutional standards; initiate revisions as appropriate and advise consultants and clients on optimal solutions.
- Ensure that project operations comply with design specifications and client requirements.
- Direct work sequencing to expedite project delivery and minimize disruption of ongoing operations.
- Inspect, approve, and accept completed projects for the institution, ensuring conformance with institutional standards, building and life‑safety codes, and architectural/engineering specifications.
- Research and prepare various reports related to operations, equipment, policies, procedures, and other issues as appropriate.
- Remain informed of relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health policies, manuals, and procedures in place within Hill International and ensure continued compliance while employed by Hill.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
- A degree in engineering or a business‑related discipline is required.
- Post‑graduate education such as an MSc or PhD is highly desired.
- 15 or more years of experience on complex, end‑to‑end construction projects.
- Experience in report writing.
- Experience in contractual administration.
- On‑site project experience from initial design through to handover and completion is mandatory.
- Adequate work experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Ability to think ahead, identify new opportunities, and create innovative approaches to work‑related issues.
- Familiarity with design (space & functional analysis, operator/client liaison, cross‑disciplinary coordination, construction interfaces, programming, cost control).
- Strong management of large teams and excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated determination, desire to succeed, and willingness to progress within a commercial role.
- Excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, and strong user skill level within MS Office or Primavera.
- Excellent numerical and communication skills.
