Job description
Senior Planning Manager – Abu Dhabi, UAE

Are you a strategic thinker with deep experience in planning, scheduling, and project controls? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments where accuracy, foresight, and coordination drive success?

Overview

ALEC Engineering and Contracting L.L.C. (ALEC), part of the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD), is one of the GCC’s most trusted construction companies, delivering high-profile, technically complex developments across airports, high-rises, retail, and hospitality sectors. In the UAE, ALEC is behind some of the nation’s most iconic projects, offering fully integrated construction solutions through specialist business units.

Why Join Us?

As a Senior Planning Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving project success through meticulous programme development and proactive risk management. You’ll interpret technical documentation to build resilient schedules, identify potential risks early, and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery.

You’ll collaborate across planning, technical, procurement, and construction teams to align methodologies, resources, and logistics — fostering seamless coordination throughout the project lifecycle. In addition, you’ll lead performance tracking and reporting efforts, from establishing baseline resource curves to preparing delay impact assessments and EOT claims.

About Your Team

Reporting to the Head of Planning, you will work closely with project managers, engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to create, manage, and monitor detailed project schedules. You’ll also provide mentorship to junior planning engineers and support strategic project decisions through accurate data and analysis.

Your Role
  • Developing and managing project program, calendars, and critical paths
  • Interpreting drawings, BOQs, and specifications to shape planning strategies
  • Collaborating with engineers, managers, procurement, and supply chain teams
  • Assessing risks, proposing mitigation, and supporting change management
  • Preparing reports, progress audits, and resource forecasts
  • Supporting 4D digital planning and ensuring compliance with ALEC standards

This is a full-time position following a Monday to Saturday work schedule, standard within the industry for site-based roles.
