Qualifications

  • Experience within Engineering, Automotive, or an approved maintenance organisation preferred.
  • Knowledge of different coating systems and their relevant data sheets.

Senior Restoration Preparation Assistant

will support the restoration team in maintaining and refurbishing aircraft interior and exterior finishes. Ensure all surface damage is accurately assessed and restored in accordance with approved procedures and quality standards.

In this role you will:
Generic
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment to minimise hazards through proper use of approved paint products and adherence to safety standards.
  • Ensure availability of all required tools and consumables for restoration activities and elevate shortages to the shift manager for timely procurement.
  • Perform routine preparation and polishing tasks independently, as delegated by the supervisor.
Base / Cabin Maintenance
  • Identify cabin areas susceptible to repeated damage, determine potential causes such as design issues or misuse, and recommend corrective measures.
  • Work closely with Cabin Appearance Specialists and cleaning partners to repair damage identified during audits and cleaning processes.
  • Stay updated on industry surface‑finishing procedures and recommend value‑adding products or improvements to the Line Manager.
  • Execute and guide restoration activities to maintain interior cabin finishes to the highest standards, including removal and installation of trim components not suitable for in‑situ painting.
  • Monitor new surface finishes introduced with incoming aircraft and support modification campaigns requiring updated paint solutions or colour changes, reporting any updates to the Line Manager.
Aircraft Appearance Centre
  • Conduct preparation, painting, and finishing of aircraft panels, structures, and components in compliance with approved processes and documentation.
  • Prepare coating systems for paint technicians, ensuring correct material ratios and awareness of ambient conditions.
  • Oversee post‑painting activities, including housekeeping, cleaning of equipment, and maintenance of hangar and platform areas.
  • Restore interior cabin finishes to the highest standard.
Qualification

To be considered for this role you must meet the following requirements:

  • 12 years of schooling or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Experience within Engineering, Automotive, or an approved maintenance organisation is preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of Aircraft Manuals, General Repair Manuals and Engineering drawings pertaining to rework, paint finishes and application of markings.
  • Must have knowledge of different coating systems with their relevant data sheets in the areas of mixing, induction times, and viscosity.
