Job description

The Senior Designer will lead the creative vision for a variety of high-end residential and commercial projects for our client who is aboutique Interior Design and Architecture studio.

This role involves managing design processes from concept to completion, ensuring the highest standards of quality and innovation. You will collaborate with a team of 3D Designers, Interior Designers, Technical Architects, while also mentoring junior staff and maintaining client relationships.

This role requires expertise in intelligent architectural design, sustainability, and advanced design software. As the main point of contact for their clients throughout their engagement, the Senior Designer must be personable, professional and an exceptional communicator.

Key Responsibilities

Lead design projects: Oversee and manage design projects from client briefing and initial concept through to final completion, ensuring alignment with the clients vision and project goals.

Creative direction: Develop and articulate creative concepts and design strategies (including mood boards briefing documents, sketches and layouts) and communicate these to both client and colleagues.

Client management: Build rapport and maintain strong relationships with clients, effectively communicating/presenting design concepts, technical information and progress.

Authority approvals: Manage the approvals process for projects, including NOCs from developers and interested parties as well as approvals from authorities such as Dubai Municipality, Dubai Civil Defence, Trakhees, DEWA, Du etc.

Team collaboration: Work closely with Architects, Interior Designers, 3D Visualizers, project managers, and other team members to ensure cohesive, efficient and effective project execution.

Leadership: Take on the role of leader within the project team, offering guidance and mentorship, as well as championing studio processes, documentation and policies are upheld.

Deliverables: Drawing floor plans, sections and elevations in AutoCAD for projects.

Design documentation: Prepare detailed design documentation, including drawings, specifications, schedules and document trackers.

Quality control: Ensure all design deliverables meet the studios quality standards and adhere to project objectives

Time management: Collaboratively determine project deadlines, allocating resources within the project team to meet submission deadlines. Maintain efficient flow of communication, including for approvals and document/shop drawing review.

Vendor communication: Liaise with suppliers and vendors to source materials and furnishings that align with the project concept and objectives.

Material knowledge: In-depth knowledge of locally available and luxury materials.

FF&E: Selection of furniture, fixtures and equipment that achieve the project objectives and creating detailed FF&E schedules.

Joinery: Generating joinery intent drawings/sketches.

On-site support: Providing on-site design guardianship and support to clients, contractors and other consultants.

Shop drawings: Review of shop drawings and product data sheets in a timely manner to ensure compliance with the design and project objectives.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience.
• Minimum 1 years working in the residential sector in Dubai.
• Currently located in Dubai.
• Experience in leading client meetings and presentations.
• Experience in leading the design process from concept to completion for large residential renovations with significant layout changes and/or extensions.
• Experience in the key responsibilities outlined in this job description.

The following criteria are be preferred, but not essential:

• Leadership experience with NOC and approval processes for residential communities.
• Expertise in using 3DS Max, Corona Renderer and VRay.
