Job description

Overall objectives

To successfully plan coordinate and deliver infrastructure-related projects (on-prem hybrid or cloud) in alignment with enterprise architecture and IT strategy.

To ensure infrastructure initiatives (e.g. data centre refresh network upgrades cloud migrations backup modernisation) are delivered on time within scope and to required quality standards.

To provide clear project governance risk management and stakeholder communication for all infrastructure workstreams.

To support Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) leadership in transforming core services and enabling business agility through modern stable and secure platforms.

Role specific responsibilities

Work closely with architects engineers and platform owners to ensure that technical deliverables meet design specifications and operational standards.

Coordinate cross-functional teams including internal I&O staff security application teams vendors and third-party integrators.

Track milestones deliverables and interdependencies to ensure accurate reporting and escalation where necessary.

Manage project financials procurement invoicing and vendor performance in line with contracts and budgets.

Ensure all infrastructure changes align with change management processes release schedules and enterprise governance.

Prepare and maintain detailed documentation including implementation plans rollback procedures and support transition materials.

General functional responsibilities

Maintain alignment between project delivery and Infrastructure & Operations strategy and roadmaps.

Ensure risks and issues are documented regularly reviewed and escalated appropriately.

Engage with Information Security and Compliance teams to ensure new infrastructure components meet required standards.

Contribute to the annual planning process by supporting scoping estimating and prioritisation of infrastructure initiatives.

Support the Principal Delivery Manager in portfolio-level reporting resource planning and governance reviews.

Promote structured delivery discipline while encouraging agility and adaptability based on project context.

Qualifications

Core competencies required

Proven track record delivering medium-to-large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g. server/storage migrations network upgrades tooling rollouts).

Strong familiarity with infrastructure technologies: virtualisation (VMware Hyper‑V) storage (SAN/NAS) networking (LAN/WAN/SDN) cloud platforms (AWS Azure) backup/DR and endpoint platforms.

Skilled in planning resource coordination budget tracking vendor management and risk/issue resolution.

Experience with project delivery and tracking tools (e.g. MS Project Jira Confluence Smartsheet ServiceNow).

Organised disciplined and delivery-focused.

Strong communicator across technical teams vendors and business stakeholders.

Proactive in managing dependencies constraints and conflicting priorities.
