Job description

We are seeking a Senior Civil Draftsman with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas industry to support FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) and Detailed Design (DD) phases of EPC projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed civil and structural drawings in accordance with international codes project requirements and client standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare civil and structural drawings for FEED and Detailed Design phases including:
  • Site grading earthworks and paving layouts
  • Concrete and steel detailing (plan section reinforcement)
  • Equipment and pipe rack foundations
  • Roads, culverts, drainage and fencing layouts
  • Underground and aboveground utilities
• Interpret engineering sketches, specifications and calculations to develop accurate CAD drawings.
• Ensure all drawings comply with project standards, ADNOC guidelines (if applicable) and international codes.
• Coordinate closely with civil/structural engineers and other drafting disciplines.
• Perform drawing checks for quality, accuracy and inter‑discipline consistency.
• Support 3D model reviews, clash checks and incorporate mark‑ups or comments as required.
• Maintain drawing records, revisions and documentation in line with document control procedures.
• Participate in project and design review meetings.
• Mentor and guide junior draftsmen within the team.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum 8-10 years of relevant drafting experience in Oil & Gas EPC projects.
• Strong knowledge of FEED and Detailed Design deliverables.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other drafting tools. Knowledge of Revit, MicroStation or Navisworks is an advantage.
• Sound understanding of international codes and standards (ACI, BS, ASTM, ASCE, etc.).
• Good understanding of EPC workflows and multi‑discipline coordination.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
• Previous experience on ADNOC projects (FEED and/or EPC phases) (Preferred).
• Familiarity with ADNOC drafting standards and specifications (Preferred).
• Exposure to brownfield and greenfield projects in upstream, midstream or downstream sectors (Preferred).
• Experience using project document management systems (e.g. Aconex, SmartPlant) (Preferred).
