Job summary

A leading consulting and engineering firm is seeking a Senior Civil Construction Workpack Engineer for their UAE business unit in Sharjah. In this role, you will support onshore capital projects, including modifications and low-carbon solutions. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in construction work pack development within an O&G environment, combined with proficiency in Navisworks and the ability to work independently. Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Civil Construction Workpack Engineer to join our UAE business unit in Sharjah, UAE.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Civil Construction Workpack Engineer to support an International Client operator in delivering a portfolio of onshore capital projects, including both Greenfield and Brownfield modification projects and low‑carbon solutions.

Wood has been awarded a general engineering contract to support an International Client operator by providing engineering and project management services (including EPC contract management), as well as Supply Chain, Construction and Commissioning support from Wood Iraq and UAE offices.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
  • Compilation of discipline construction work packs
  • HSE input to construction work packs
  • Provide constructability input into engineering design
  • Review of engineering deliverables
  • Provision of construction input to work packs to ensure a quality deliverable is produced
  • Assure constructability aspects of design

Required Experience & Skills
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in construction / construction work pack development in an O&G environment
  • Time served with relevant experience or ONC / HNC or equivalent
  • Shall have worked as a construction engineer or supervisor on onshore brownfield modifications work
  • Shall be proficient in taking engineering design deliverables and developing the necessary construction input into a work pack
  • Knowledge of and experience in using WPS system is a distinct advantage
  • Proficient in the use of Navisworks and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Fluent spoken and written English
