Description

A successful retail chain has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Accessory Buyer. The position is based in Dubai. This is a career opportunity with a company that recognizes talent and rewards performance.

Reporting directly to the Divisional Merchandise Manager, the goal of the BUYER is:

  • Deliver the planned return on investment for the Merchandise Division
  • Operate within merchandise plan objectives regarding the following items: mark-ups, mark-downs, margins and inventory turns.
  • Develop departmental strategy and plans in conjunction with Planner on a quarterly planning calendar.
  • Review and revise department/class plans on a monthly basis and work with Planner to implement any revisions.
  • Develop store strategies in conjunction with Planner regarding product mixes, delivery timing, fixture rollouts and special events.
  • Interpret and analyze statistical reports and take appropriate action to maximize trending business and minimize down-trending business.
  • Search and negotiate the best deal and value in the marketplace to ensure that we are priced below competition.
  • Pursue new vendors, concepts, items and trends to set us apart from the competition.
  • Manage flow of merchandise to maximize merchandise turnover.
  • Take on additional duties as needed
Desired Skills & Experience:
  • College degree in a business-related field
  • 3 plus years of experience in a retail industry buying position
  • Mens buying experience is required
  • Strong organizational skills; detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Computer literate
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
