Job summary

A leading safety management company based in Dubai is seeking an experienced safety expert to oversee the development and implementation of OHS policies and programs. The ideal candidate will have over 6 years of experience in managing safety issues across multiple projects, a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Occupational Safety, and a NEBOSH IGC certification. This role involves conducting risk assessments, organizing training for staff, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent, or in Occupational Safety.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field is desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Support the development of OHS policies and programs.
  • Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery, etc.).
  • Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures.
  • Review and update policies and measures, and update them according to legislation.
  • Initiate and organize OHS training for employees and executives.
  • Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g., not using protective equipment).
  • Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances, etc.
  • Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
  • Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle workers' compensation claims.
  • Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to the department concerned.
  • Represent the company on matters regarding HSE on client-facing platforms.
  • Conduct trainings to the workforce.
  • Frequent inspections on site and share all unsafe acts and conditions with respective contractors.
  • Root cause analysis & corrective/preventive action planning.
  • MS Office & risk assessment software proficiency.
  • Strong presentation, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory & statutory compliance (local & international).
  • Knowledge of lighting and solar works.
Qualifications
  • Experience: More than 6 years working in a multi-project environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent, or in Occupational Safety, or in a related field.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field is desirable.
  • Professional certifications: NEBOSH IGC.
  • Skills & abilities: Managing the project team, training, client handling for safety issues, presentation skills, report preparation, data analysis related to safety.
  • DL IS MUST.
