Job Description
Parsons is seeking an experienced Rolling Stock Specialist to oversee the design development, integration, and testing of rolling stock systems for a major rail infrastructure program in Dubai.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design Development Oversight: Oversee the design development of metro car sub‑systems, including car body, traction motors, brakes, doors, HVAC, passenger information systems, and other critical components.
- Design Review: Perform detailed reviews of manufacturer design submissions to ensure compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and project requirements for metro cars.
- System Integration: Ensure integration of metro cars with major sub‑systems such as ATC, power supply, platform screen doors, trackwork, and communication systems through Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
- Testing and Commissioning: Oversee integration testing and commissioning of metro cars at the site to verify system functionality, performance, and safety.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to metro rail safety standards, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements throughout design, development, and testing phases.
- Coordination: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—engineering, operations, and maintenance—to guarantee metro car reliability and operational efficiency.
- Reporting: Prepare technical reports, dashboards, and updates for senior management and stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Promote innovation, safety culture, and operational excellence across all metro car functions.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Rail Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in rolling stock engineering, design, or integration focused on metro cars and sub‑systems.
- PMC/Consultant experience in addition to rolling stock manufacturer experience is preferred.
- Proven experience in design review and integration of metro cars with other major rail sub‑systems.
- Strong knowledge of metro car lifecycle management, reliability engineering, and system integration.
- Familiarity with metro rail safety standards, technical specifications, and regulatory compliance.
- International experience on large infrastructure projects is preferred.
