We are seeking a Rolling Stock Manager as a part of our DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH Abu Dhabi. The job opening is in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and offers exciting challenges and potential for career growth.

Responsibilities
  • Supervision and complete oversight of the manufacturing and assembly of high‑speed trains at the contractor, ensuring compliance with contract requirements
  • Conducting inspections, tests, monitoring, and audits at manufacturing sites in accordance with the quality plans and inspection plans
  • Inspection of welding and manufacturing work on key structural components of rolling stock (e.g., chassis, floor, car body)
  • Inspection of installation of systems and subsystems of rolling stock (e.g., traction motors, air conditioning units, pantographs, electrical equipment)
  • Participation in and supervision of hold‑point inspections, First Article Inspections (FAI), and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for rolling stock, depot equipment, and simulators
  • Inspection of rolling stock key structural components welding & fabrication such as but not limited to underframe, floor, car body, etc.
  • Inspection of rolling stock system and sub‑systems installations such as but not limited to traction motors, HVAC, pantograph, electrical equipment, etc.,
  • Witnessing hold point inspections for high‑speed rolling stock and depot equipment – minimum of 50% of all hold points as per the ITP.
  • Witnessing of First Article Inspections and Factory Acceptance Testing of rolling stock-key/major sub‑system, rolling stock, depot equipment and simulator.
  • The Consultant shall supervise, full time, at the Client Contractor’s off‑site high speed rolling stock manufacturing /assembly activities in accordance with the QAMP to ensure that the high speed rolling stock are compliant with the Client Contracts requirements.
  • Witnessing/monitoring of all on‑site testing activities for rolling stock, depot equipment and simulator.
  • Supervision and management of test and commissioning activities, including review and approval of test and commissioning plans, strategies, and procedures
  • Review and approval of test and commissioning reports, ensuring adherence to approved test plans and contract requirements
  • Supervision and management of integration tests between rolling stock and other systems
  • Review, approval, and management of implementation of the safety verification plan, and ensuring project documentation in accordance with EN50126 V‑Cycle
  • Rolling Stock Traction and Braking performance Requirements, Evaluation and Certification
  • Procedures, Report formats and Templates including ETCS related braking curve test requirements.
  • Management of Failure Reporting and Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS/DRACAS) during test and commissioning phases
  • Establishment and leadership of the Failure Review Board (FRB) for fault analysis and resolution during test and commissioning phases
Qualifications
  • University degree (preferably Master’s and/or Chartered Engineer status)
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in management of design and/or construction of rail projects, specifically in rolling stock
  • Experience in delivering High‑Speed Rail (HSR) projects is mandatory
  • Candidate must have held this position at least once before on a project of similar size
  • Local Experience in Middle East and/or UAE project experience is advantageous
  • Fluent in spoken and written English is mandatory; Arabic language skills would be an advantage
  • Skills in supervision, inspection, testing, commissioning, and quality assurance for rolling stock manufacturing, assembly, and installation
  • Ability to manage and witness inspections, Factory Acceptance Testing, and pre‑delivery inspections for rolling stock and related equipment
  • Strong project management, integration, and coordination abilities throughout the full project lifecycle (design, procurement, manufacturing, construction, testing, commissioning, integration, trial operations, certification, handover, close‑out)
  • Knowledge of regional industry standards and international best practices for rolling stock projects
  • Ability to oversee site logistics, off‑site manufacturing, and assembly supervision
