Overview
The Retail Area Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day operations across assigned retail pharmacies. The role ensures sales growth, operational excellence, compliance with company policies, and strong customer relationships, while leading and developing front-line teams.
Responsibilities
- Oversee pharmacy sales performance and financial KPIs through data analysis, reporting, and monitoring, addressing gaps and capturing opportunities to achieve annual targets.
- Conduct regular visits to pharmacies to ensure front-line pharmacists and staff deliver excellent customer service, comply with dispensing standards, and meet patient expectations.
- Foster strong relationships with pharmacy teams through continuous support, coaching, and engagement to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Maintain strong business relationships with key accounts (doctors, nearby pharmacies, clinics, and hospitals) through regular visits and calls to support prescription flow and business growth.
- Provide coaching, counseling, and performance feedback to pharmacists and pharmacy staff; set performance improvement plans to maximize knowledge, skills, and service quality.
- Monitor pharmacy inventory through system analysis, reporting, and physical checks to improve shelf availability, minimize overstocks, and eliminate expired medicines.
- Ensure full compliance with pharmacy regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures through field visits and quality audits.
- Manage manpower planning across pharmacies (schedules, shifts, vacations, operating hours) to ensure smooth daily operations and consistent service.
- Reinforce interdepartmental communication by ensuring adherence to departmental memos, updates, and SLAs.
- Recommend new retail locations to the Retail Sales Manager and relevant departments.
- Provide market feedback and business updates to support management decision-making.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Science.
- Experience: Minimum 6 years in retail, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Skills & Competencies: Leadership, communication, collaboration, management, and customer orientation.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Languages: Fluent in English and Arabic.
