Job Description

The Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at College of Engineering, United Arab Emirates University calls for a Research Assistant to work in the field of biocomposites. The candidate will receive a four‑month research grant and may have the position extended based on performance, working under the supervision of Professor Mohammad Jawaid.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Preparation of raw materials from biomass.
• Characterisation of biomass.
• Fabrication and characterisation of biocomposites and nanocomposites.
• Testing of materials and biocomposites/nanocomposites using advanced equipment.
• Presenting and reporting research results at national and international conferences and publishing scientific results in peer‑reviewed Q1 journals.

Minimum Qualification

• Skill in material science/polymer composites.
• Research experience in fabrication and characterisation of biocomposites/nanocomposites.
• Ability to characterise composites and nanocomposites.
• Good technical writing skills and publication record.
• Flexible approach and initiative in executing the role.
