Job description

The APAC BD LEAD is a leading role in the Korea growth team at our organization, with possibilities for expansion. This dynamic position touches on all aspects of the Flare organization, from events and community engagement to relations with key partners and market expansion.

The primary responsibility of this role is to build, nurture, and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders, with first a prime focus on Korea and Japan, and then the expanding markets in Asia, while aligning with our growth strategy.

Reporting To: Head of BD and Head of Marketing & Community

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

Business Development

  • Develop and execute a quarterly business development strategy for Asia.
  • Secure at least 3 new partnerships with development teams per quarter.
  • Onboard 2 dapps in the key regions each quarter.

Partner Relations & Coordination

  • Establish a partner relationship management system.
  • Conduct bi-weekly check-ins with partners.
  • Organize quarterly regional partner summits to foster collaboration.

Market Development

  • Launch Flare's presence in 2 new Asian markets annually.
  • Take the lead in identifying and partnering with key onramps, wallets, and exchange partners in each new market.
  • Achieve 30% increase in user adoption in Korea and Japan within a year.

Event Attendance & Planning

  • Represent Flare at minimum 6 major industry events annually.
  • Organize 2 Flare-hosted events in Asia per year.
  • Take the lead in identifying key industry events in Asia, planning our participation, representing the company, and ensuring seamless logistics and representation. Manage our events and communities teams to deploy resources for maximum impact..

Public Relations & marketing

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to strategize and execute PR and KOL campaigns.
  • Serve as a primary contact for media inquiries and coordinate interviews, press releases, and other marketing activities.
  • Increase Flare's share of voice in Asian crypto media by 20% annually.

Community Relations

  • Work closely with the community managers to nurture and manage relationships with retail and developer communities.
  • Expand the regional community management team by 3 within 6 months.
  • Recruit and train 20 regional retail ambassadors within the first 4 months, followed by developer ambassadors.
Role Requirements:
  • Proven experience in business development, partner relations, and market development.
  • Strong network in the blockchain and crypto ecosystem, especially within targeted regions like Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with teams like marketing and community management.
  • An understanding of the degen community and its dynamics.

  • Strategic thinker with a knack for spotting growth opportunities.
