Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quantity Surveyor specializing in pre-contract work for infrastructure projects to join our team in Dubai United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our organization you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate cost estimations and efficient project planning for large-scale infrastructure developments.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for infrastructure projects including roads bridges and utilities
  • Develop and analyze bills of quantities for tender documentation
  • Review and evaluate tender submissions from contractors
  • Assist in the preparation of contract documents and procurement strategies
  • Conduct value engineering exercises to optimize project costs
  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure cost-effective solutions
  • Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to achieve favorable terms
  • Undertake quantity measurement for inclusion in cost plans estimates and bills of quantities.
  • Prepare comprehensive tender documentation in line with project requirements.
  • Conduct viability studies and develop detailed cost estimates.
  • Implement maintain and monitor cost control procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide input and support in the preparation and assessment of financial claims.
  • Evaluate variations additions and omissions and incorporate findings into monthly cost reports.
  • Prepare process and negotiate change orders with clients and contractors to ensure timely and accurate execution of projects.
  • Conduct market testing and analyse tender returns to support rate benchmarking and update the cost database.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation tendering and contract administration.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Professional certification from a recognized quantity surveying body is advantageous(e.g. RICS)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in pre-contract quantity surveying with a focus oninfrastructure projects
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software / Cost X
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • In-depth knowledge of infrastructure project costing and budgeting
  • Experience in preparing tender documents and contract administration
  • Familiarity with construction contracts and procurement processes
  • Knowledge of local construction regulations and standards in the UAE
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
