Job summary

A construction company in Abu Dhabi seeks a quality control professional with a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Architecture. Candidates must have 4+ years of experience, knowledge of inspection procedures, and skills in MS Word and Excel. Responsibilities include reviewing plans, conducting inspections, preparing quality reports, and coordinating with consultants and subcontractors on-site. This role is pivotal for maintaining construction standards and ensuring compliance during project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Examine drawings, specifications, and method statements.
  • Conduct required inspection and testing activities.
  • Prepare daily Quality Control Report and follow up.
  • Follow-up on corrective actions and resolve quality issues.
  • Coordinate with consultant and subcontractors on quality matters.

Skills

Required Qualifications & Competencies
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil/Architecture.
  • 4+ years of Experience in Building Construction Industry
  • Knowledge of on-site testing procedures and requirements.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing quality documentation.
  • Computer Skills include competency in MS Word and Excel.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Review & Planning
    • Examine drawings, specifications and method statements to define and understand construction criteria.
  2. Inspection & Testing
    • Conduct required inspection and testing activities according to relevant inspection and test plans, and coordinate with consultant.
    • Prepare and submit WIR/MIR to Consultant and perform joint inspection.
    • Coordinate with Section Engineer for daily Inspection schedule.
    • Prepare and follow up closeout of snags during handover.
  3. Reporting & Documentation
    • Prepare daily Quality Control Report and follow up on actions required with relevant Section Engineer.
    • Maintain Quality Records for inspection and test activities.
    • Report Product Non-conformance according to ACC Standard Operating Procedure – SOP – QM – 03.
  4. Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions
    • Follow-up to ensure corrective actions are taken and closed.
    • Resolve quality issues through identification and implementation of corrective actions to close non-conformities and avoid recurrence.
  5. Coordination & Support
    • Coordinate with the consultant representative on site daily quality matters.
    • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers on site to ensure that work is properly carried out.
    • Assist the Quality Engineer in identifying and arranging training on site.
