Job description

The primary responsibility of a QC Inspector is to ensure that all fabrication activities meet the applicable quality standards and comply with project specifications, approved drawings, and relevant codes and standards. The QC Inspector is responsible for carrying out stage-wise inspections, including Incoming Goods Inspection Report (IGIR) approval, dimensional inspections, and monitoring, witnessing, and recording all required testing activities.

The QC Inspector shall verify material identification and traceability, ensure compliance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), and confirm that welding, NDT, heat treatment, and pressure testing are performed as per the approved Inspection and Test Plan (ITP). The QC Inspector is also responsible for identifying non-conformances, raising NCRs when required, ensuring corrective actions are implemented, and maintaining accurate quality records and documentation. Coordination with production, engineering, and third-party inspection agencies is an integral part of the role to ensure timely approvals and final clearance of fabricated equipment.

  • Ensure the project meets the QA/QC contractual requirements.

  • Contribute to achieving Quality goals and targets

  • Review approved drawings, GAD, welding details prior to the fabrication activities.

  • Perform inspections at fabrication shops for Pressure vessels, exchangers, valves, pumps, piping spools, structural skids, and instruments.

  • Check incoming material inspection status and IGIR approval

  • Ensure material identification & traceability (heat number transfer, tagging) by coordinating with store in charge.

  • Ensure compliance with the Project Quality Plan, Project Quality Specifications, and Procedures throughout manufacturing and quality control inspection activities.

  • Monitor and inspection of fabrication shop activities like Plate rolling, shell & head forming, Nozzle orientation, RF pad fit up, etc.

  • Coordinate and witness NDT activities, hydrotesting, Pneumatic testing.

  • Inspection of Machining components, Tube sheets, Flanges, etc...

  • Perform dimensional inspections at fabrication shop.

  • Inspection of surface preparation and final painting activities.

  • Maintaining the documentation and ensuring document traceability.

  • Perform final walk down inspection to ensure name plate details correctness, packing and preservation.

  • Preparing inspection test reports and Inspection Release Notes.
