Key Responsibilities
1. Operations & Maintenance Management:
- Oversee the O&M of solar power plants, including troubleshooting, preventive, and corrective maintenance.
- Develop and implement standardized O&M processes, procedures, and protocols to ensure operational efficiency.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as plant availability, performance ratio (PR), and energy output.
2. Team Leadership:
- Lead, train, and manage a team of engineers, site managers, and technicians across multiple locations.
- Foster a culture of safety, performance, and continuous improvement.
3. Performance Optimization:
- Analyze operational data to identify trends, potential risks, and areas for performance enhancement.
- Implement advanced diagnostic tools, predictive maintenance practices, and digital solutions to optimize energy generation.
4. Vendor & Contract Management:
- Manage relationships with O&M contractors, equipment suppliers, and service providers.
- Negotiate and oversee contracts for O&M services, spare parts procurement, and equipment warranties.
5. Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Generate and present detailed performance and maintenance (O&M) reports for clients/stakeholders, highlighting insights and recommendations.
- Submission of invoices timely to Clients for O&M services
6. Generation monitoring and actions to increase:
- Monitor the power generation and take immediate steps to increase the production in case for generation lower than the expected levels.
- Track and monitor outages and increase cycles of cleaning based on the need/dust levels.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Power Engineering or a related field.
- Advanced degrees (MBA, M.Tech) are a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in the solar or renewable energy sector, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing O&M for multiple rooftop solar installations.
Technical Skills:
- In-depth understanding of solar PV technology, inverters, and other equipment.
- Proficiency in performance monitoring tools and predictive maintenance technologies.
- Knowledge of grid integration and regulatory requirements.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Add-on: DEWA Solar Engineer Certificate, DM Engineer Certificate, Society of Engineer registration. Valid UAE Driving License is must.
