Overview

Title: Project Manager - Mixed Use

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

The Role

Reports to the Project Director for ensuring delivery of 1 or more project sites. The Project Manager shall have the role to manage all aspects of Project Management from early Construction stages till completion and handing over.

Project Description

KBR has been appointed under a framework agreement with the largest developer in Abu Dhabi to oversee a diverse portfolio of projects that contribute to Abu Dhabi's growth. This includes developing essential infrastructure such as transportation networks and utilities, alongside public spaces and involving also the shaping of thriving communities by managing the development of residential housing projects and ensuring the quality of new educational facilities, together with the development of mosques and maximizing urban space through infill development projects. This PMC role offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on Abu Dhabi's built environment.

Responsibilities
  • Management of all aspects of delivering one or more projects as part of the programme management consultant’s role on a major programme of development works.
  • Management and support of the Site Operations Team ensuring that the project goals and schedule are understood and delivered
  • Manage delivery of all project construction, coordinating on all logistics, permitting, commissioning and handover activities to ensure delivery of the Project to technical, budget, schedule and quality requirements established for the Project.
  • Interface with all sections of the team to meet overall program deliverables
  • Development, establishment and execution of standards, policies, procedures and best practices
  • Liaise with the Engineering Team to assist in the development of design solutions that promote constructability and value engineering
  • Monitoring and reporting on the performance of the construction supervisors and the contractors, including on QHS&E requirements.
  • Identifying risks and preparation of mitigation plans.
  • Ensure that the construction works are following the authorities’ regulations.
  • Provide regular updates to the Project Director and Client, preparing weekly and monthly progress reports and interface with the Client and end users.
Experience, Skills and Knowledge
  • BSc in related subject or equivalent experience with proven experience in Projects Management.
  • Minimum 15 years overall experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in similar role
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in Middle East
  • Sound knowledge of all operational aspects of major civil projects.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience in project management, construction management and practice and the delivery of complex major projects
  • Experienced user of MS Office, advanced MS Excel user and Primavera Contracts Manager an advantage
  • Fluent English both written and spoken, Arabic speaking advantageous.
  • Experience in delivery of parks, public buildings and retail outlets.
  • Familiar with sustainable construction practices and Estidama requirements.
