Job summary

A leading Emirati construction company is seeking a Project Manager for Electrical Substation Projects. You will lead and deliver high-voltage electrical substation projects from initiation through commissioning. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, at least 15 years of experience in project execution, and deep expertise in high-voltage substations. Strong leadership and coordination skills are essential, and previous UAE experience is highly desirable. Fluency in English is required, Arabic is a plus.

Qualifications

• PMP certification is an advantage.

As a Project Manager – Electrical Substation Projects, you will be responsible for leading and delivering high-voltage electrical substation projects (400 kV, 220 kV, and 132 kV) from initiation through commissioning. The role requires full ownership of project execution, ensuring compliance with technical standards, safety regulations, contractual obligations, and client expectations.

Key Accountabilities

• Managing the full project lifecycle, including engineering coordination, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning of HV substations.
• Coordinating closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Reviewing project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure full technical and contractual compliance.
• Preparing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules, budgets, manpower, and resources.
• Leading site teams and enforcing strict adherence to HSE and quality standards.
• Identifying project risks and implementing corrective and preventive actions to maintain progress and cost control.
• Reviewing and approving technical submittals, material approvals, and progress reports.
• Chairing project meetings and providing regular progress updates and reports to senior management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

We Are Looking For :

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
• Minimum 15 years of experience in project execution, with strong exposure to high-voltage electrical substations (400 kV / 220 kV / 132 kV).
• PMP certification is an advantage.
• Previous experience in the UAE or GCC is highly desirable.
• Strong technical knowledge of IEC, DEWA, TRANSCO, and ADNOC standards.
• Solid understanding of protection systems, control panels, switchgear, transformers, and EHV equipment.
• Proficiency in MS Project or Primavera, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
• Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and site teams effectively.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
