This role could suit an Engineer with specific Boeing experience OR a non-engineer with deep technical expertise of Boeing stock, inventory and parts.

About the role

Thales AGS Trading sits underneath our Avionics service line to propose cost effective solutions to worldwide operators to maintain their fleet. AGS achieve this by providing equipment parts in serviceable condition to the suppliers.

As the Pre-Sales Engineer (Boeing) you will use your technical expertise to support the sales team to advise which product parts they should be purchasing, the demand landscape for those parts and instruct on the relevant inventory and stock levels. In order to do this, you will need deep knowledge on Boeing technical parts and inventory, including product part numbers.

Day to day you will
  • Be in charge of sourcing and procuring Boeing Serviceable / unserviceable equipment.
  • Establish a list of fast-moving Boeing parts that AGS Trading should focus on sourcing.
  • Create and validate the Boeing Product Number in ERP (Quantum) as needed by gathering all relevant information related to this equipment (description, applicability, manufacturer, Export Control Classification number, …)
  • Check / review and assess the paperwork or similar documents in order to source the correct parts.
  • Ensure that part Traceability and all relevant documents are available and provided before buying the equipment.
  • Negotiate the buying price from the open market (his / her network of suppliers) as low as possible in order to maximize the Gross Margin.
  • Support AGS Trading Operations / Supply Chain Team regarding all Boeing parts Repair related activities.
  • Ensure a consistent and sufficient Boeing PN inventory level in order to contribute to the expected growth on Non-Thales parts as well as monthly order intake, sale and Gross Margin objectives.
  • In charge of answering all Boeing Request for Quote (RFQs) sent from Worldwide customers.
  • Propose and negotiate with the customers the selling price as close as possible to the PN Fair Market Value (FMV) in order to maximize the Gross Margin while aiming to obtain the customer Purchase Order.
  • Build and maintain a specific network of customers and suppliers associated to this activity.
  • Define and follow commercial action plans to further develop Boeing AGS Activity and drive Boeing USM activity for AGS Trading.
  • In charge of reaching the order intake, sale and Gross Margin objectives on a monthly basis.
  • Trigger yearly Customer Satisfaction Survey and launch action plans to address any points customers have feedback.
  • Ensure all activities and transactions are in full compliant of all the compliance requirements – Trade Compliance (TC), Export Control (EC), Third Party Integrity Assessment (TPIA) and any other Compliance initiatives which are and will be implemented by AGS Trading.
  • Regularly keep abreast of the technical evolution of the Boeing PN and inform his / her collaborators in AGS Trading team.
  • Keep up to date the Boeing PN fair market value (FMV) in Quantum (ERP).
  • Provide and follow a customer / supplier visit plan in order to develop and nurture customer / supplier intimacy.
  • Support the Worldwide Trading GM by strongly contributing to the following: Markets analysis, Boeing PNs selling and purchasing strategies development, Sales and provisioning needs forecast for short and midterms and process optimization.
  • Work closely with the Operations & Supply Chain Team / Finance Team.
  • Manage the customers’ spare parts orders delivery, not limited to gathering the Estimated Delivery Date (EDD) towards customers and update the dates in Quantum (ERP).
  • Manage the suppliers’ orders delivery, not limited to obtaining up-to-date Estimated Delivery Date (EDD) from suppliers and update the dates in Quantum (ERP).
About you

We are looking for a technical expert in Boeing parts, you may be an Engineer looking to venture into product line / sales, but this role could also suit a supply chain Manager, Inventory Manager or Product Line Manager. You should be highly experienced in Boeing and Civil aircrafts and have deep knowledge of the service materials and parts. You should be an excellent communicator, will the ability to work closely and collaboratively with different teams, specifically the sales team. Knowledge of Boeing Tier 1 Suppliers products would be highly advantageous a long with good business and commercial acumen.
