Planning Executive – ERW Pipe Manufacturing Plant

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Planning & Scheduling
    • Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer orders and plant capacity.
    • Coordinate with Production and Maintenance teams to ensure adherence to the planned schedule.
    • Update daily production progress reports and highlight any deviations from the plan.
    • Support in optimizing machine and manpower utilization to achieve production targets.
  • Material Planning & Control
    • Prepare coil requirement and slitting plans as per production schedules and pipe size mix.
    • Coordinate with Stores and Procurement for timely availability of raw materials, coils, and consumables.
    • Track coil consumption, stock balances, and manage leftovers to minimize material wastage.
    • Maintain accurate records of material inward, issuance, and consumption data.
  • Order Management & Coordination
    • Receive and review customer orders, technical specifications, and delivery requirements from the Sales/Marketing team.
    • Convert customer orders into production orders and update ERP/MIS systems accordingly.
    • Coordinate with Dispatch and Logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and order fulfillment.
    • Communicate production and delivery status updates to relevant departments on a regular basis.
  • Data Recording & Reporting
    • Maintain daily production data, including output, downtime, coil utilization, and yield performance.
    • Generate daily and weekly MIS reports for management review and decision-making.
    • Support the Planning In-Charge in analyzing production deviations, bottlenecks, and performance trends.
  • Process & Performance Monitoring
    • Track actual production versus planned schedules and follow up with line supervisors for corrective action.
    • Support planning adjustments during equipment breakdowns, material shortages, or urgent customer orders.
    • Monitor key performance indicators such as production efficiency, yield percentage, and downtime to support continuous improvement.
  • Coordination & Communication
    • Act as a liaison between Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Logistics departments to ensure smooth coordination.
    • Ensure all departments are updated with current production plans and priority orders.
    • Assist the Planning In-Charge during daily review meetings and operational discussions.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Education
    • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, or Metallurgical Engineering.
    • Candidates with prior experience in manufacturing planning or operations will be preferred.
  • Experience
    • 1–5 years of experience in Production Planning / PPC in a steel pipe or tube manufacturing environment.
    • Exposure to ERW pipe manufacturing processes (forming, welding, sizing, finishing, and dispatch) is an advantage.
Technical Competencies
  • Basic understanding of ERW pipe production flow and machine operations.
  • Knowledge of coil width calculation, slitting plan preparation, and yield analysis.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
