Summary

This position is affiliated with Cincinnati’s Children’s Hospital in the USA. The Consultant in Pediatric Vascular Surgery provides expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of vascular conditions in infants, children, and adolescents.

Education/Qualification
  1. Basic medical degree from a recognized institution.
  2. Arabic speaker is an advantage.

    • Qualification Source from North America – USA: American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).
License
  • Current and in good standing medical license to practice in country of residence.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat congenital and acquired vascular conditions, including vascular malformations, hemangiomas, aneurysms, and vascular trauma.
  • Perform detailed clinical assessments, imaging reviews, and vascular evaluations.
  • Develop and manage individualized treatment plans using surgical, endovascular, and conservative approaches.
  • Perform pediatric vascular procedures and manage perioperative care.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient services, including pre‑operative assessment and post‑operative follow‑up.
  • Review diagnostic imaging such as Doppler ultrasound, CT angiography, and MRI to guide treatment decisions.
  • Work closely with pediatric surgeons, interventional radiologists, anesthesiologists, intensivists, and nursing teams.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and vascular board meetings.
  • Communicate clearly with families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, risks, and expected outcomes.
  • Support families through education, care planning, and discharge coordination.
  • Lead ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and case reviews.
  • Accept referrals from emergency services, pediatric departments, and external hospitals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with hospital and DOH standards.
  • Supervise and support junior doctors, residents, and fellows.
  • Participate in teaching, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to service development and clinical pathway planning.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and credentialing activities when required.
  • Follow hospital policies, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in incident reporting, audits, and performance review processes.
