Summary

This position is affiliated with Cincinnati’s Children’s hospital in the USA. The Consultant in Pediatric Plastic Surgery provides expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of ear, nose, throat, head, and neck conditions in infants, children, and adolescents.

Education/Qualification

License
  • Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and manage pediatric ENT conditions including airway disorders, hearing loss, sinus disease, sleep-disordered breathing, voice disorders, and congenital anomalies.
  • Conduct full clinical assessments, including history, physical exams, and age-appropriate investigations.
  • Develop and manage treatment plans using medical and surgical approaches based on best practice and hospital protocols.
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures such as endoscopy, audiology assessments, and imaging reviews.
  • Prescribe and monitor medications in line with DOH and hospital guidelines.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient care, including pre-operative and post-operative management.
  • Accept referrals from emergency, pediatrics, primary care, and external facilities.
  • Lead ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and case reviews.
  • Review investigation results and adjust care plans as needed.
  • Work closely with pediatricians, anesthesiologists, audiologists, speech therapists, nurses, and allied health teams.
  • Communicate clearly with parents and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment options, risks, and follow-up care.
  • Support families with education, care planning, and discharge coordination.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in line with hospital and DOH standards.
  • Supervise and support junior doctors, residents, and fellows.
  • Participate in teaching, clinical meetings, and case discussions.
  • Contribute to service development, clinical pathways, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and clinical orientation when required.
  • Follow hospital policies, safeguarding standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Take part in audits, safety reporting, and continuous improvement activities.
