Job Title: Network Director
Job Location: Bangalore / Abu Dhabi (Onsite - Full Time)
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the enterprise network strategy aligned with business growth, digital transformation, and cloud adoption goals.
- Lead multi-year network modernization programs, including migration to software-defined, automated, and AI-assisted environments.
- Develop and manage network architecture roadmaps covering LAN / WAN, SD-WAN, data center, cloud, wireless, and security domains.
- Partner with CIO, CISO, and enterprise architects to ensure the network supports resilient, secure, and performant digital operations.
- Drive cost optimization through vendor consolidation, managed services, and automation initiatives.
Technical Oversight
- Oversee design and governance of core, campus, and cloud networking - ensuring high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
- Direct enterprise deployments of SD-WAN, SASE, and Zero Trust Network Architecture frameworks.
- Champion network observability, telemetry, and automation initiatives for proactive issue management and performance optimization.
- Ensure network scalability to support emerging workloads such as hybrid cloud, AI, and IoT.
- Stay current with evolving technologies (5G, NaaS, edge computing) and evaluate their relevance to enterprise strategy.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee 24x7 global network operations ensuring SLAs, uptime, and service reliability.
- Develop and enforce standards, governance, and security controls across the global network.
- Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and continual improvement processes.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and vendor relationships (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Microsoft, etc.).
- Establish KPIs for network health, performance, and team efficiency; drive accountability across teams and service providers.
People & Vendor Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a global team of network architects, engineers, and operations staff.
- Build a high-performance culture that emphasizes automation, agility, and innovation.
- Manage strategic vendor partnerships and evaluate new technologies through POCs and architecture boards.
- Represent network function in executive and board-level discussions, communicating complex technical topics with clarity and influence.
Required Skills & Experience
- 15+ years in network engineering and architecture, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership / director capacity.
- Proven track record leading enterprise-scale networks across data centers, campuses, cloud, and remote locations.
- Deep expertise in routing / switching (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VXLAN), SD-WAN, and network security integration.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or hybrid-cloud networking and associated architectures.
- Strong understanding of Zero Trust, SASE, and network segmentation frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets, vendors, and global distributed teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills - able to balance business outcomes with technical decisions.
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Executive-level certifications (CCIE, CISSP, TOGAF, PMP).
- Proven success leading network transformation or cloud connectivity programs.
- Familiarity with AI-driven network operations (AIOps) and predictive analytics platforms.
- Experience with ITIL-based service delivery models and managed service contracts.
- MBA or equivalent experience in technology leadership and business strategy.
