Job Vacancy: Mechanical Inspector

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Inspector to join our team for utility and infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate must have strong technical knowledge of Abu Dhabi HSE legislation, codes of practice, and industry best practices.

Job Purpose

To lead, supervise, and coordinate all mechanical works related to steel water tanks, carbon steel (CS) pipelines, pumping systems, and associated mechanical infrastructure on DMT / TAQA projects, ensuring full compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable codes and standards, and Abu Dhabi authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overall supervision and coordination of Contractor's mechanical works, including steel water tanks, CS pipelines, valves, fittings, pumps, and mechanical equipment.
  • Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, project specifications, DMT / TAQA standards, and statutory authority requirements.
  • Review, approve, and monitor method statements, shop drawings, material submittals, ITPs, and procedures related to mechanical works.
  • Oversee fabrication, installation, welding, testing, coating/lining, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
  • Witness and verify critical activities including welding, NDT, hydrostatic testing, pressure testing, tank testing, and mechanical commissioning.
  • Review and validate QA/QC documentation such as WPS, PQR, WQR, MTCs, NDT reports, and test certificates.
  • Ensure Contractor's compliance with approved HSE plans and safe work practices.
  • Identify non-conformances, issue NCRs, and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC Engineers, Inspectors, Contractors, and TAQA / DMT representatives for inspections and approvals.
  • Monitor construction progress, resolve site technical issues, and report to the Project Manager.
  • Support snagging, de-snagging, final inspection, and project handover activities.
  • Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and technical correspondence.
Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Membership in a recognized professional engineering body is an advantage.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 10-12 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
  • At least 5 years' experience as Resident Engineer / Mechanical Engineer in a supervision or PMC consultant role.
  • Proven experience in676 steel water tanks and carbon steel pipeline works on water, utility, or infrastructure projects.
  • Prior नव experience on DMT / TAQA projects is mandatory.
  • Previous TAQA approval as Resident Engineer / Mechanical Engineer is高清视频 preferred.
  • Experience working with Abu Dhabi authorities and utility clients is essential.

  • Strong technical knowledge of steel tanks, CS pipelines, pumping systems, and mechanical utilities infrastructure.
  • Excellent understanding of QA/QC systems, inspection procedures, and authority approval processes.
  • Familiarity with DMT and TAQA standards and project governance requirements.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and contractor management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • NEBOSH IGC or IOSH Managing Safely (NEBOSH preferred)
Language Requirements
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
  • Arabic is an added advantage.
