Job description

A Mechanical Engineer with airport experience is responsible for designing, reviewing, and supervising mechanical systems in airport facilities, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with international aviation standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Specification: Develop and review designs for HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and fuel systems in terminals, hangars, and support buildings.

Airport Systems Integration: Coordinate with specialists for integration of Baggage Handling Systems (BHS), Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBB), and Ground Support Equipment (GSE).

Project Execution Support: Provide technical input during procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning phases.

Compliance & Standards: Ensure systems comply with international (e.g., ICAO, NFPA, ASHRAE) and local airport engineering standards.

Coordination & Review: Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and airport authorities for system compatibility and functionality.

Site Supervision & Testing: Oversee site works, testing & commissioning of mechanical systems, and review contractor submissions and shop drawings.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Building Construction, Construction Management, Civil Engineering,
  • 5-7 years of experience in project management within construction
  • Comfortable reading and understanding blueprints and drawings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer software
