Job summary

Manufacturing Development & Qualification Engineer

The Ansaldo Energia Group is one of the world's leading power generation companies. The company designs and manufactures turbines and generators, and provides service and continuous improvement. Headquartered in Genoa, the Group employs more than 3,300 people and has a strong international presence with more than 30 offices around the world. Ansaldo Energia is one of the leading players in the transformation and decarbonisation of power generation. Its turbogas fleet is already capable of burning between 40 and 70 per cent hydrogen, with the aim of reaching 100 per cent by 2030.

Position
  • Specify and drive the qualification process and support manufacturing activities for parts and components manufactured in house and/or outsourced
  • As technical link, be responsible for communication between supplier and qualification team (of which you will be a leading member) to ensure a trustful relationship among involved people
  • Review of production documents regarding manufacturability
  • Provide manufacturing expertise and knowledge to design teams, from design phase till production and installation
  • Issue and maintain production documents and specifications, material specifications, inspection specifications, test specifications ensuring they are state of the art and applicable
  • Provide knowledge regarding dispositioning of Non-Conformances
  • Ensure root cause analysis and failure analysis assessment in the frame of manufacturing.
Requirements
  • Experience in manufacturing and machining technologies and processes (e.g. precision casting, machining, drilling, brazing, welding, coatings)
  • Knowledge and practice related to mechanics, design principles, geometric sizing and tolerances
  • Knowledge of metallic materials (mainly superalloys) and their properties and characteristics in order to ensure their correct choice, use and manufacturing in components design, production and repair
  • Direct or interface experience with supply chain operations and effective management of project supplies and deliveries
  • Proven ability in applying knowledge of different components and systems in order to define and perform most appropriate and effective tests, in verifying compliance with technical requirements, and in evaluating conformity/non-conformity
  • Understanding of and experience with quality process management, measurement techniques, destructive and non-destructive testing methods
  • University degree in engineering or equivalent or experienced technician.
  • Able and excited to work in an international team and intercultural context, as well as with external partners
  • Basic knowledge of gas turbine architecture and operation
  • Fluent Italian and English language
