Manager, Magnet and Nursing Excellence
Overview
The Manager provides strategic leadership for Magnet Recognition and Nursing Excellence across the organization. This role drives professional nursing practice, ensures alignment with organizational goals, and oversees operations, budgeting, and staff development related to nursing excellence programs.
Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise-wide Magnet Recognition efforts, including readiness, re-designation, reports, and site visits.
- Develop and implement nursing excellence initiatives to enhance quality, safety, and patient/family-centered care.
- Oversee operational, financial, and human resource functions within the program.
- Engage stakeholders to promote shared governance, evidence-based practice, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and support staff development, recruitment, and retention.
- Represent Nursing Excellence internally and externally, serving on key committees and partnerships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in nursing and master’s in nursing/healthcare administration, or related field (Doctorate preferred).
- Registered Nurse license.
- Minimum 3 years progressive leadership experience (5 years preferred).
- Experience in a Magnet-recognized organization within the past 5 years.
- Strong leadership, communication, financial, and project management skills.
Specialist Certifications Desired
CPHQ, CMQ, lean 6 Sigma
Preferred Skills
- Experience in large academic/complex health systems.
- Knowledge of accreditation and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire teams, implement change, and achieve measurable outcomes.
