Job description

The Legal Officer is responsible for providing supervised legal assistance to the AD Airports Legal Department. The role supports the interpretation and application of UAE and Abu Dhabi laws and court judgments and collaborates closely with legal team members to deliver commercially focused, timely, and cost-effective legal services.

The Legal Officer operates under the guidance and supervision of the AD Airports Legal Department and works directly with internal clients on specific matters. The role may also involve overseeing external legal resources when required. The position ensures that AD Airports’ commercial and operational objectives are achieved while considering the Company’s risk appetite.

Responsibilities
  • Support the development of departmental objectives and plans in alignment with the AD Airports strategic performance management framework and scorecard.
  • Stay informed on new and existing KPI requirements and ensure alignment with corporate KPIs and strategic frameworks.
  • Work towards achieving departmental and section objectives and actively support colleagues in achieving their goals.
  • Provide supervised legal assistance to AD Airports Legal team members in a timely, proactive, and efficient manner.
  • Assist in interpreting UAE and Abu Dhabi laws and court judgments to support informed legal decision-making.
  • Establish and maintain administrative systems to support and streamline legal research activities.
  • Gather, organize, and analyze information obtained from legal research related to specific cases.
  • Prepare submissions to government entities on regulatory matters and coordinate with government bodies, including courts.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting AD Airports’ operations and support the development of compliance strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with approved delegation of corporate authority when executing legal documentation.
  • Adhere to departmental and sectional policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop in the role, providing supervised legal services over an agreed period.
  • Contribute to periodic audits of policies and procedures and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Identify and recommend corrective actions for quality or compliance issues identified in reviews.
  • Assist in the preparation of periodic reports as requested by section or department heads.
  • Proactively seek professional development opportunities in line with AD Airports values.
  • Participate in performance appraisals and act on feedback provided by the line manager.
  • Commit to a development program agreed with the General Counsel and the HR Department.
Education and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law
Experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
