Job Description
The individual in this position is responsible for maintaining all kitchen, refrigeration, and laundry equipment in optimal working condition, performing both corrective repairs and preventive maintenance, and ensuring operational excellence at all times.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance tasks and respond to work orders as assigned by the Maintenance Engineer, PPM Engineer, or Shift Leader.
- Inspect all kitchen, laundry, and refrigeration equipment at the start, during, and at the end of the shift to ensure proper functioning.
- Execute preventive maintenance and annual maintenance programs in coordination with the maintenance team.
- Attend to all kitchen and laundry complaint reports on a daily basis.
- Ensure adherence to safety rules, departmental procedures, and supervisor instructions at all times.
- Assist colleagues in their tasks when requested by the supervisor to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain all necessary tools and keep the workspace clean and organized.
- Fill daily refrigeration log sheets and record temperatures as required.
- Coordinate regularly with the Hygiene Manager and Executive Chef, assisting with internal and external HACCP audits.
- Understand and uphold brand standards and operating procedures.
- Participate in special projects or tasks as assigned.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Ability to read kitchen and laundry technical drawings.
- Diagnose and repair refrigeration, kitchen, and laundry equipment.
- Strong electrical knowledge and experience with reciprocating kitchen and laundry equipment.
- Familiarity with planned preventive maintenance and safety programs.
- Knowledge of fabrication, installation, and general maintenance practices.
- Ability to perform gas and arc welding.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience in kitchen and laundry installation or maintenance for industrial / commercial projects. Experience in luxury hotels or hospitals preferred.
- Secondary school diploma plus technical college or equivalent.
- Trade certificates, City & Guilds, or equivalent.
- Preferable apprenticeship experience.
- Basic English proficiency.
