Job summary

A financial services provider in Abu Dhabi is looking for an entry-level accountant. The role involves posting journal entries, managing accounts receivable and payable, and assisting in financial reporting. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting. Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with accounting software like Oracle or SAP are preferred. Fresh graduates or those with up to one year of experience are encouraged to apply. This is a full-time position with no remote work options.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with a major in Finance, Accounting or a relevant field.
  • Qualifications such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA are a plus but not required.
  • Fresh or 1 year of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

  • Post and process journal entries for business transactions.
  • Assist in updating accounts receivable and issuing invoices.
  • Assist in accounts payable updates and reconciliations.
  • Support processing of financial statements according to guidelines.
  • Maintain records for assets and liabilities.
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports as required.

Responsibilities
  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions as assigned are recorded.
  • Assist in updating accounts receivable and issue invoices.
  • Assist in updating accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
  • Assist in the processing of balance sheets income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
  • Assist and maintain records for assets and liabilities.
  • Assist with reviewing of expenses payroll records etc. as assigned.
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
  • Assist in preparation and submit weekly/monthly reports as required.
  • Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
  • Assisting in balancing sheets and income statements.
  • Assisting with reviewing income and expenses.
  • Assisting with other accounting-related duties.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree with major in Finance, Accounting or relevant field.
  • Qualifications (ACA ACCA or CIMA) is a plus but not required.
Experience Requirements
  • Fresh or 01 year experience
Skills & Professional Requirements
  • Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen.
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and competency in computer software (e.g. Oracle or SAP) is preferred.
