Job summary

A leading engineering and consultancy group in Dubai seeks an experienced Interface Manager to lead and manage interface activities across multiple disciplines. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, 12+ years of relevant experience in multidisciplinary infrastructure projects, and strong stakeholder management skills. This role requires ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards and providing technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle. Fluency in English is mandatory, and experience in the Middle East is highly desirable.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years’ experience in managing interfaces on large-scale, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
  • At least 5 years on major rail or HSR projects.
  • Proven track record of successful management of civil interfaces.

Context
Interface Manager
Missions/Main Duties
  • Lead, plan, and manage all interface activities between civil packages (earthworks, structures, stations, depots, utilities diversions, etc.) and other disciplines (track, systems, MEP, architecture, environment, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain the project Interface Management Plan, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives and client requirements.
  • Identify, track, and resolve interface issues or conflicts proactively, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on project progress.
  • Maintain an up-to-date interface register, ensuring that all interface risks, actions, and decisions are logged and communicated to relevant parties.
  • Coordinate and facilitate interface meetings and workshops with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders to address interface challenges.
  • Review and approve interface management documents, specifications, drawings, and reports from designers and contractors.
  • Support the integration of third-party stakeholders (utilities, authorities, developers, local communities) into project interface processes.
  • Ensure all civil interface activities comply with safety, quality, and sustainability standards and local UAE regulations.
  • Provide expert advice and technical guidance on civil interfaces throughout design, construction, testing, and commissioning stages.
  • Contribute to change management processes in relation to interface impacts, and ensure comprehensive reporting to project leadership.
  • Prepare and present interface progress reports to senior management and the client.
  • Mentor and support interface engineers and other project staff as required.
Profile/Skills

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline; Master’s degree is advantageous.

  • Minimum 12 years’ experience in managing interfaces on large-scale, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects, with at least 5 years on major rail or HSR projects.
  • Proven track record of successful management of civil interfaces (structural, architectural, MEP, systems, utilities, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of interface management processes, systems integration, and project management methodologies.
  • Familiarity with international and UAE civil standards, regulations, and authority requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, interface management tools, and relevant engineering software.
  • Experience in the Middle East and working with local authorities is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; Arabic language skills are an added advantage.
