Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced draftsman to prepare detailed infrastructure shop drawings for various utilities and drainage projects. The ideal candidate must have a diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or Drafting and at least 8-10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 5 years in the UAE. Proficiency in AutoCAD and knowledge of construction practices are essential. The role demands excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

Job description

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop detailed infrastructure shop drawings for roads utilities drainage sewerage water supply and related works.
• Create and update coordination drawings integrating input from various engineering disciplines to resolve on-site clashes.
• Review design drawings and prepare as-built documentation as per project requirements and authority standards.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications local regulations and client/consultant requirements.
• Coordinate closely with site engineers project managers and other draftsmen to support ongoing site activities.
• Assist in reviewing design changes site modifications and translating them into accurate and updated drawings.
• Maintain proper drawing registers version control and backup of all work.

Key Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or Drafting or equivalent.
• Minimum 8-10 years of relevant drafting experience in infrastructure projects.
• Must have at least 5 years experience in the UAE/GCC counrtry is mandatory.
• Highly proficient in AutoCAD and well-versed in civil drafting standards and layering practices.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure construction practices especially related to roads drainage and utilities.
• Experience in shop drawing preparation coordination drawings and site-based drafting support.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be currently in the UAE and able to join within 12 weeks upon selection.
