Job summary

A well-established engineering company in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced HR Manager to oversee HR operations and recruitment activities for large-scale projects. This role requires a proactive HR professional with strong UAE labour law knowledge and at least 8 years of experience in the oil & gas or engineering sectors. The ideal candidate will manage recruitment cycles and ensure compliance with company policies. Excellent communication skills and team management abilities are essential. Fluency in English is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8–10 years of HR experience in the oil & gas or engineering sector.
  • At least 5 years of HR experience in the UAE or GCC.
  • Fluent English is mandatory.

Position Overview

On behalf of our client, a well-established engineering company operating within the Hard Commodity sector in Abu Dhabi, we are seeking an experienced and hands‑on HR Manager to oversee general HR operations, workforce planning, and recruitment activities for large‑scale engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the day‑to‑day HR operations in compliance with UAE labour law and company policies.
  • Manage full recruitment cycle: manpower planning, sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding of technical and non‑technical staff.
  • Support line managers and project directors on all HR‑related matters, including performance management, employee relations, and workforce development.
  • Maintain and update HR systems, personnel files, and ensure documentation meets audit and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate with site management and head office on mobilization, visa processing, and contract administration.
  • Advise management on compensation structure, benefits, and retention strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE, ethical standards, and corporate governance policies within the HR function.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum 8–10 years of HR experience, including at least 5 years in the oil & gas or engineering sector within the UAE or GCC.
  • Strong understanding of UAE labour law, free zone regulations, and project-based HR frameworks, Fluent English.
  • Proven experience in recruitment for engineering, EPC, and project management roles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to manage multicultural teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HR software; familiarity with ERP/HRIS systems preferred.
