Job Description

Wynn Al Marjan Island is a luxury beachfront resort scheduled to open in the United Arab Emirates in Spring 2027. Located less than 50 minutes from Dubai International Airport, the integrated resort features 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants and lounges, a theatre, nightclub, and five‑star spa. The resort is currently under construction on a picturesque island that curves into the Arabian Gulf.

About The Position

Wynn Al Marjan Island is seeking a Head of Wardrobe to join the resort’s Entertainment Administration team.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the Wardrobe Department and hire and train new employees.
  • Lead the wardrobe team in providing and maintaining all costumes, make‑up, hats, headpieces, wigs, masks, shoes and other costume accessories at the highest level of quality for all performances.
  • Support the production team by assisting with the planning and strategy of the costume creation, load‑in and the creative/rehearsal process of the production.
  • Ensure the design integrity of the costumes, accessories, hair and make‑up in liaison with the Costume Designer and Show Director.
  • Order and build all costume elements and wardrobe supplies in a timely manner to assure adequate inventory for performance needs and maximize return on investment.
  • Provide cost‑effective solutions to wardrobe operations and the purchase of materials for costumes while still maintaining show quality and maximizing return on investment.
  • Oversee the integration of new costume and make‑up elements into the production.
  • Oversee and coordinate the proper maintenance and fitting of costumes, hats, masks, shoes and other accessories, including development of regular repair and cleaning schedules and procedures.
  • Document all costume and make‑up elements and respective costume cues and any respective changes on a daily basis during the rehearsal process and through all of the performances.
  • Produce yearly wardrobe budgets and manage the department’s budgets and capital expense projections and oversee the supply, replacement and inventory of consumables.
  • Oversee the timely purchase and/or making of new costumes, hats, masks, shoes, make‑up and other costume accessories to ensure adequate inventory for performance needs.
  • Maintain and update the costume plot, inventories, purchasing records and associated documentation.
  • Develop an on‑going inspection of the individual costumes and make‑up, workshop and stage installations and participate with inspections regularly.
  • Provide, develop and coordinate the proper maintenance procedures and scheduling of daily repairs, fittings, dry cleaning and laundering of all costume elements.
  • Create and maintain training and back‑up plans to ensure continuity in wardrobe operations.
About You
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience working as Head of Wardrobe or in a similar position for large‑scale theatrical or concert production.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in costume construction; knowledge of costume design; general costume, headpiece, wig, accessory and shoe maintenance and laundry procedures; experience working with wardrobe staff and performers in the backstage environment during a live performance.
  • Experience with a wide variety of modern costume workshop equipment and shop layout design with strengths in machine use, maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with a wide variety of methods and materials used (fabric, paints, dyes, plastics, etc.) for costume construction and costume maintenance.
  • Must be able to manage staff and perform under pressure.
  • Must have the ability to direct and motivate the performers.
  • Must have the ability to work with individuals from different cultures and backgrounds.
  • Must be highly organized and be able to function in a stressful environment.
  • Must be able to manage, prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner.
