Role : Governance & ODD Manager
Location : Dubai
Role Purpose:
To lead and manage Ongoing Due Diligence (ODD) processes and Risk Governance activities for Business Banking Division (BBD). This includes ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, managing risk assessments, implementing controls, and supporting governance frameworks while driving operational excellence and customer‑centric processes.
Key Accountabilities of the role
Risk Governance & Control:
- Maintain and update SOPs, SLAs, and memos for BBD.
- Conduct regulatory gap assessments and ensure compliance with new/existing regulations.
- Monitor changes in legislation and implement necessary actions.
- Perform risk assessments for new projects/products/processes and define controls.
- Liaise with stakeholders (Ops, GCD, ITD, ORM, FRM) for corrective actions and governance initiatives.
- Represent BBD in enterprise‑wide risk assessments and provide feedback to compliance teams.
- Track KRIs, RFIs, and contribute to GRC scoring.
ODD Management:
- Oversee Ongoing Due Diligence reviews for all risk categories (High, Medium, Low).
- Manage Supervisors, Checkers, and Makers teams, including KPIs, appraisals, and resource planning.
- Ensure compliance with AML and regulatory SOPs.
- Review and finalize ODD cases, ensuring proper documentation and verification.
- Handle customer communication for ODD requirements and assist in accurate form completion.
- Implement exit relationships and exemption processes in coordination with MIS and Compliance.
- Monitor RCSA, KRI, and control testing for ODD teams.
Reporting & Advisory:
- Prepare critical reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
- Advise on changes to customer‑facing documents (BSA, SOC, account opening forms).
- Provide feedback on regulatory consultative papers.
- Ensure timely response to regulatory inquiries (e.g., CBUAE).
Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role:
- Strong knowledge of AML regulations, ODD processes, and risk governance frameworks.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Familiarity with banking products, policies, and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in BPM systems, Excel, and general IT tools.
- Ability to manage teams and drive continuous improvement.
