Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in Abu Dhabi is seeking a qualified obstetrician-gynecologist to provide comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and post-natal care. Responsibilities include performing surgical procedures, collaborating with specialists, and ensuring quality care standards. Responsibilities

  • Actively participates and builds a positive team spirit.
  • Provides antenatal intrapartum and post-natal care to obstetrical patients.
  • Responsible for assessment and reassessment of patients.
  • Assists obstetrical deliveries as delegated by Specialists.
  • Provides gynecology care to inpatients and outpatients.
  • Performs surgical procedures on the female reproductive system.
  • Refers severely ill patients to Specialists for management.
  • Assists obstetricians/gynecologists in major operative procedures.
  • Ensures optimal documentation and medical handover.
  • Participates in Risk Management processes.
  • Reviews adverse events with senior staff and improves quality of care.
  • Provides after hours, on call and hospital services as per roster.
Job description
  • Actively participates and builds a positive team spirit.
  • Provides antenatal intrapartum and post-natal care to obstetrical patients in the hospital and on an out-patient basis, as delegated by the Specialist / Consultant.
  • Responsible for assessment and reassessment of patients.
  • Assists obstetrical deliveries as delegated by the Specialists or Consultants.
  • Provides gynecology care to inpatients and outpatients as delegated by the Specialists or Consultants.
  • Performs surgical procedures of the female reproductive system on elective and on emergency bases using methods and techniques compatible with her level of competence and skill, as delegated by the Specialist / Consultant.
  • Refers problematic and seriously ill patients to the Specialist and/or Consultant Obstetrician Gynecologist, for review and advice regarding management.
  • Assists other obstetricians/gynecologists in major operative procedures when required to do so.
  • Ensures optimal documentation and medical handover for patients seen through the department.
  • Such other duties are reasonably requested.
  • Assess risk, report incidents and participate in Risk Management processes.
  • Review with senior staff, adverse events, problem incidents and complaints and explore all opportunities to improve the quality of care and provide recommendations in regard to risk management.
  • Provide after hours, on call and hospital services as per the roster if applicable.
