The Front Desk Associate serves as the first point of contact for members and guests, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment. This role includes handling membership inquiries, assisting with check‑ins, processing payments, and maintaining overall customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service & Reception:
- Greet members and guests with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Assist with member check‑ins, registration, and guest passes.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries about memberships, class schedules, and facility services.
- Address and resolve customer concerns efficiently, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Membership & Sales Support:
- Provide information on membership plans, promotions, and fitness programs.
- Process new memberships, renewals, and cancellations.
- Handle billing, payments, and account updates.
- Promote additional services such as personal training, classes, and retail products.
- Administrative & Facility Management:
- Maintain an organized and tidy front desk area.
- Monitor access to the facility, ensuring only authorized members enter.
- Assist in scheduling fitness classes and personal training appointments.
- Keep accurate records of attendance, memberships, and daily transactions.
- General Duties:
- Ensure compliance with gym policies and safety regulations.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and order in the reception and lounge areas.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to management.
- Support special events and promotions as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in hospitality or business is a plus.
- Previous experience in customer service, front desk operations, or the fitness industry is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills (experience with gym management software is a plus).
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
- A passion for health, fitness, and wellness is a plus.
