Job summary

A leading finance and accounting firm in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Fixed Assets Accountant to maintain and update the fixed asset register for all company assets. The role involves recording asset transactions in the ERP system, ensuring compliance with IFRS, and calculating depreciation. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, 3-5 years of relevant experience, and excellent analytical skills. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to auditing and compliance efforts while supporting financial management.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in fixed assets or general accounting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and fixed asset accounting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update the fixed asset register for all company assets.
• Record asset additions, disposals, transfers, and retirements in the ERP system.
• Ensure proper capitalization of assets in line with company policy and IFRS.
• Calculate and post depreciation on a monthly basis.
• Reconcile fixed asset sub-ledger with the general ledger.
• Perform periodic physical verification of fixed assets and investigate variances.
• Review capital expenditure requests and ensure proper approvals.
• Track assets under construction and capitalize them when ready for use.
• Process asset disposals, including gain/loss calculations.
• Support audit requirements by providing schedules and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
• Prepare fixed asset reports for management.
