Job summary

A manufacturing company based in Dubai seeks a Production Planner to develop production schedules and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. You will monitor job orders, handle inventory levels, and manage ERP data. Job description

Production Planning & Scheduling:

Develop daily and weekly production schedules in coordination with Sales and Production teams.
Monitor job orders prioritize them based on delivery commitments and available resources.
Maintain and update the Master Production Schedule (MPS) with accuracy.
Prepare and release all necessary documentations such as process flow sheets etc. to the shop floor for efficient and effective production planning & control.
In liaison with the production team prepare production plan to ensure the delivery schedule meets customer requirements.

Coordination & Communication:

Act as a bridge between Sales Customer Service and Operations to ensure timely and accurate flow of information.
Liaise with the production team to identify capacity constraints and reschedule accordingly.
Support the S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process by providing inputs and forecasts.

Inventory & Material Planning:

Track inventory levels and suggest replenishments to meet production demand.
Monitor the consumption of raw materials and ensure alignment with planned usage.
Update and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) in collaboration with Quality and Production teams.

System & Data Management:

Maintain production-related data in Oracle ERP and ensure accurate job postings.
Ensure that man-hours used on machineries are recorded timely and accurately by the production team including inputs on extra work and verify it with related records.
Supports Master Data Governance as it relates to Operations Master Data within Oracle ERP.
Analyze production reports downtime logs and performance trends to support decision-making.

Operational Support:

Assist in scheduling machine usage to optimize capacity and overall plant performance.
Ensure new product developments/trials and all work orders are planned scheduled and produced on time to maximise performance and minimise delay.
Ensure proper documentation and traceability for all production-related records.
Track and report shift schedules man-hours and productivity metrics.

Compliance & Safety:

Ensure compliance to Safety Quality Food Safety and Environment requirements as specified in the global QHSE Management System with strict adherence to ISO and local regulatory authority.
Ensure that all records and documents are up to date and have full traceability and retrieval at all times and that all processes procedures & activities comply with ISO and management procedures.
Perform any other job/task assigned by the Line Manager to accomplish department objectives.

Requirements

Education/ Qualifications

Bachelors Degree or Diploma in engineering preferably Mechanical/Electrical

Experience

5 to 8 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing industry preferably packaging volume manufacturing.
Experience in a production planning scheduling or similar production / supply chain capacity.

Functional Skills & Specific Knowledge

Understanding of manufacturing processes and machine capacities
Knowledge of ERP systems.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Proficient in Microsoft applications esp. Word and Excel.
Knowledge of Quality systems and procedures.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving
