Overview

Job Summary: We are looking for a talented and experienced Executive Chef to lead and manage the culinary operations of our restaurant in El-Fujairah. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and creating innovative dishes, managing kitchen operations, overseeing staff training, menu design, budgeting and cost control, hygiene standards compliance as well as providing leadership to the kitchen team.

Responsibilities
  • Develop creative menus according to seasonality and customer feedback
  • Manage all aspects of kitchen operations including food prep, cooking techniques and plating presentation
  • Monitor quality of ingredients used for dishes including freshness and taste
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards set by the local authorities
  • Manage the inventory of kitchen supplies ensuring that items are ordered on time from approved vendors at agreed prices
  • Oversee staff recruitment, training and development as well as scheduling shifts for the kitchen staff
  • Monitor staff performance on a daily basis ensuring that all tasks are completed according to set standards
  • Develop new recipes in collaboration with other chefs/cooks in order to ensure a varied menu offering
  • Work with other departments such as housekeeping or front of house staff to ensure smooth running of operations
Qualifications & Skills
  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a hospitality environment
  • Excellent knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Working knowledge of food safety standards including HACCP guidelines
  • Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g. mixers)
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure while working long hours in a busy environment
  • Leadership skills to inspire your team with enthusiasm while setting high expectations
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Flexibility in schedule (weekends/holidays & nights)
  • Outstanding communication abilities both written & verbal
  • Relevant professional qualifications in Culinary Arts or related field will be an advantage
