Overview

Job Summary : We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Manager to lead and oversee all engineering and maintenance operations across the hotel / resort property. The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth functioning of physical infrastructure, safety systems, energy management, and preventive maintenance while maintaining the highest standards of guest satisfaction and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Supervise and manage the engineering department staff and contractors. Oversee day-to-day maintenance operations across all hotel systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevators, fire safety, and BMS. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and programs.
• Energy & Sustainability: Monitor and optimize energy usage, utilities, and water systems to achieve sustainability goals. Lead green initiatives and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with local laws, health and safety regulations, and fire codes. Conduct risk assessments and coordinate periodic safety drills and equipment audits.
• Guest & Asset Support: Provide engineering support to enhance guest satisfaction by minimizing service disruptions. Monitor building systems for efficient functionality and timely repairs.
• Project Management: Plan and supervise engineering upgrades, renovation projects, and capital improvements. Liaise with external vendors, suppliers, and service providers for quality and cost control.
• Team Management: Hire, train, and mentor technical staff to ensure competency in all engineering functions. Establish performance KPIs and ensure high staff productivity and morale.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 7–10 years in engineering / maintenance within the hospitality sector, with 3–5 years in a managerial role.
• Certifications: Preferably certified in Fire & Life Safety Systems, HVAC, or Electrical Systems.
• Strong knowledge of BMS systems, energy efficiency, CMMS, and sustainable maintenance practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and vendor negotiation skills.
• Familiar with local municipality and civil defense regulations (for UAE / GCC roles).

Preferred

• Experience in working with luxury hotel chains or international hospitality brands (e.g., IHG, Marriott, Hilton).
• Familiarity with LEED-certified buildings or green building maintenance.
