Job summary

Project: Dubai Tram

Location: Al Sufouh Dubai

Timing: Shifting

Duration of Project: 12 MONTHS EXTENDABLE

Location of work: Dubai Tram depot and stations

Tools: Will be provided by CLIENT

Certificate: Electrical accreditation certificate (L1V and LR)

Accreditations for Specific Low-Voltage Interventions
  • L1 and L2: Permit low-voltage maintenance and repair work with L2 allowing supervision of teams. For any maintenance tasks under L1 and L2 installations must be locked out and secured before work begins.
  • LR: Authorizes troubleshooting and live low-voltage interventions on small-scale facilities such as electric panel and for operations such as troubleshooting or short-time periods and the main circuit breaker must not exceed 63A.
  • LC (Person in Charge of Lockout): Responsible for locking out the installation ensuring it is de-energized and secured before any intervention.
Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical Installation & Modification
  • Install and replace circuit breakers in PDC and telecom cubicles.
  • Install terminals connectors and LED indicators as per design specifications.
  • Modify existing panels to accommodate new components and layouts.
  • Route terminate and label control and power cables.
  • Support integration and commissioning activities.
  • Experience with systems operating below 1000 V (typically 50220 V for LV panels).
  • Ability to read and interpret circuit drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Skilled in component installation, cable termination and enclosure assembly.
  • Proficient in cutting, drilling and mounting components as per engineering specs.
  • Cable termination at PSU and Energy Box ends.
  • Proper crimping and insulation techniques.
  • Knowledge of proprietary cable labeling standards.
  • Terminal block labeling and earth cable identification.
  • Use of tools like multi-meter and insulation tester for system checks.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair faults in LV panels and associated circuits.
Testing & Documentation
  • Perform continuity, insulation and functionality tests.
  • Update red-line drawings and maintain installation records.
  • Report progress and issues to site supervisors and engineers.
Safety Responsibilities
  • Strictly adhere to safety standards, electrical codes and site-specific safety procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments prior to starting work and ensure all hazards are identified and mitigated.
  • Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Ensure lockout/tagout procedures are followed during circuit breaker replacement and panel modifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent accidents.
  • Immediately report any safety incidents, near misses or unsafe conditions to the safety officer or supervisor.
  • Participate in safety briefings, toolbox talks and mandatory safety training sessions.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial or railway electrical works.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and layout drawings.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and emergency procedures.

  • Use of durable cable ties and dressing methods.
