Job description

The Educational Technologist is responsible for supporting and enhancing learning and development initiatives through the effective use of educational technology and emerging AI-driven solutions. The role focuses on creating accessible, engaging, and high-quality learning experiences for adult learners while supporting AFAQ’s future growth in learning innovation. This position is suited to a self‑motivated professional who thrives in a creative environment and contributes to the continuous development of technology‑enabled learning solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop user friendly digital learning environments which incorporates multimedia and interactive elements, and AI‑enabled tools to enhance learning experiences
• Ensure the learning management system meets all relevant needs across learning and development
• Develop educators on the effective use of technology to support the learning process, including the integration of software, digital resources and the use of the learning management system
• Lead the implementation of projects, programmes and initiatives which use educational technology, including the use of AI, communication with multiple stakeholders, managing timelines and ensuring resources are used effectively and efficiently.
• Research and remain current with emerging educational technologies, pedagogical and andrological strategies, proposing innovating solutions to enhance learning and development across all programmes, qualifications and projects.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for educational technology tools and platforms for all relevant stakeholders.

This role is initially offered on a six‑month contract, with the possibility of conversion to a full‑time position. The role is based in AFAQ’s Abu Dhabi office and may, at times, require working across a range of environments throughout the UAE.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum requirements of a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in educational technology or instructional design with professional certification specialising in technology integration in education including exposure to AI‑enabled learning tools and solutions.
• At least two years working as an educational technologist in a higher education setting.
• Experience with instructional design, e‑learning platforms, digital content creation and the use of AI‑supported technologies to enhance learning experiences.
• Project management skills and working with a broad range of stakeholders across diverse contexts.
