Job description

Orbit International Survey Services LLC is actively looking for an E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation) Inspector to join our growing team. The E&I Inspector will be responsible for performing inspection verification and documentation of electrical and instrumentation activities to ensure compliance with project specifications industry standards and regulatory requirements. The role includes conducting material and installation inspections witnessing testing and coordinating with clients and third parties to support project quality and completion milestones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all departmental procedures safety protocols and quality/environmental standards.
  • Follow information security protocols to ensure protection of sensitive data and intellectual property.
  • Review and prepare ITPs in accordance with project and regulatory specifications.
  • Perform in-process final and area completion inspections on-board and in workshops.
  • Inspect material deliveries and verify certifications for electrical and instrumentation components.
  • Monitor installation of cable trays electrical panels instruments and telecom equipment.
  • Witness testing activities including:
    • HV cable testing
    • Continuity and insulation resistance (Megger) testing
    • Earth continuity/low resistance testing
    • Torque checks on terminals and busbars
  • Inspect hazardous area equipment and confirm compliance with EX standards.
  • Review drawings such as P&IDs SLDs termination GADs and loop diagrams.
  • Conduct instrument tubing installation checks and pressure/leak tests.
  • Use inspection tools including multimeters clamp meters OTDR insulation testers ductor meters and torque wrenches.
  • Identify and document non-conformities generate punch lists and verify closure.
  • Coordinate with Mechanical Completion Engineers for documentation and inspections.
  • Liaise with internal departments clients subcontractors and third-party agencies.
  • Review and update inspection records ITRs MCCRs and final quality dossiers.
  • Issue NCRs initiate corrective/preventive actions and ensure timely resolutions.
  • Stop non-conforming work and initiate reporting protocols.
  • Comply with all safety health environment and quality regulations.
  • Participate in safety meetings and incident reporting.
  • Adhere to the "Stop Work" policy in case of unsafe practices.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Quality Manager or Project Lead.
Requirements
  • Degree/Diploma in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant inspection experience.
  • Experience in ship repair/new build or oil & gas.
  • Can join immediately upon selection.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation standards and testing.
  • Skilled in reading technical drawings (P&ID SLD loop diagrams).
  • Experience in shipyard offshore oil & gas or heavy industrial environments.
  • Familiar with Mechanical Completion systems and documentation.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in challenging environments.
