Leverage your technical leadership and join a well-established and renowned Emirati construction company, recognized for delivering complex power and energy infrastructure projects across the UAE and the wider GCC region.

As a Design Technical Engineer,You will be responsible to prepare, review, and coordinate the complete engineering design documentation for EHV substations(400 kV, 220 kV, 132 kV), ensuring compliance with client specifications, international standards, and project requirements. The role involves detailed electrical design, technical documentation and coordination with clients, consultants, and internal teams.

Key Accountabilities

• Prepare and review detailed design drawings and technical documents for EHV
• substations including layouts, SLDs, protection schemes, control circuits, and cable
• routing.
• Develop engineering calculations, design reports, and technical datasheets for
  primary and secondary systems.
• Coordinate and integrate civil, mechanical, and electrical design inputs to ensure
  overall system compatibility.
• Review vendor documents, GA drawings, and equipment datasheets (GIS,
  transformers, switchgear, control panels, etc.).
• Support the tendering and proposal team with technical inputs and BOQ verification.
• Ensure that all designs comply with client and utility standards (e.g., TRANSCO,
  DEWA, ADDC, ADNOC) and international standards (IEC, IEEE, BS).
• Prepare as-built documentation and support testing/commissioning teams during
  project handover.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and project teams to resolve technical queries and
  obtain design approvals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

We Are Looking For:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
• Minimum 15 year of experience in substation design engineering (400kV / 220 kV / 132 kV).
• Previous experience with UAE or Gulf projects is an advantage.
• Experience using AutoCAD, MicroStation (for drawings).
• Experience using ETAP / DIgSILENT PowerFactory (for system studies).
• Experience using CYMCAP (for cable sizing and thermal analysis).
• Experience using Excel and MS Office (for design calculations and documentation).
• Strong understanding of substation primary and secondary design.
• Knowledge of protection, control, and SCADA interfaces.
• Familiarity with GIS/AIS configurations, earthing, lightning protection, and cable systems.
• PMP or relevant design certification is an added advantage.
