We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Manager - Highways to join our team in Dubai United Arab this pivotal role you will lead and oversee the design aspects of complex highway projects ensuring the delivery of innovative and efficient transportation solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate the design team overseeing all aspects of highway design projects from conception to completion
  • Develop and implement design strategies aligned with project goals budgets and timelines
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including engineers architects and environmental specialists
  • Ensure compliance with local and international highway design standards and regulations
  • Review and approve design deliverables maintaining high‑quality standards throughout the project lifecycle
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for design‑related issues
  • Liaise with clients stakeholders and regulatory bodies to present design concepts and obtain necessary approvals
  • Stay updated on industry trends emerging technologies and best practices in highway design and engineering
  • Mentor and develop junior team members fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Participate in business development activities including proposal preparation and client presentations
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Masters degree preferred
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license required
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in highway design and engineering with a proven track record of managing large‑scale infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar design software
  • Strong knowledge of highway design standards transportation planning and traffic engineering
  • Experience with environmental impact assessments and sustainable design practices
  • Excellent project management skills including budget control and resource allocation
  • Advanced problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and mentoring design teams
  • Familiarity with construction methodologies and materials specific to highway projects
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and adapt to local regulations and practices in the UAE
